The following RIBA-approved CPD materials fall within the ‘Design, construction and technology’ RIBA Core Curriculum topic. Chartered architects must undertake a minimum of 20 of their annual 35 hours CPD from the RIBA Core Curriculum. Seminar, by Bona Limited
Explores a new approach to renovating resilient flooring. Instead of removing the old floor and replacing it with new flooring, there is now a fast, cost-effective and significantly more sustainable alternative that involves deep cleaning and recoating it – allowing for the application of new colours, sports lines, graphics and logos. This seminar discusses how that process works and how to specify it.

Examines rainwater drainage system options, including how to select the right materials; their benefits and design flexibility; basic calculations needed when designing to British standards; specificying detailing; and, common issues and their solutions, including curved buildings, sustainable urban drainage (SuDS) and protection from vandals.

Practical guidance on school ventilation systems, detailing why they must: respond to variation in occupancy and ambient temperature; be immune to the effects of wind speed and direction; be energy efficient; and, comply with regulations. Also covers the advantages and disadvantages of different system types, and why CO2 is the most practical measure of IAQ to use as a control parameter.
