Roof

The following CPD materials have all been assessed and approved by the RIBA.
Seminar, by AccuRoof
This CPD material helps architects choose the right roofing system to meet their clients’ requirements. It covers establishing the client’s brief, compliance (including British Standards and Code of Practice), and making the right cost decisions. It introduces specific, generic roof waterproofing systems, including green roofing and zinc, with benefits/typical scenarios. It helps avoid common problems with detailing, compatibility and interfaces. There’s also a checklist of manufacturer support.

SIG Design & Technology is a part of SIG plc, the UK’s market-leading specialist supplier to professionals in the building and construction industry. SIG Design & Technology delivers a complete and impartial design, supply and guarantee service, built around its flat roof products (including green roofing systems) with the aim of enabling the roof to work harder.

Seminar, by The Rooflight Co.
This seminar presents examples of various challenging briefs (for both residential and commercial projects) and the solutions that satisfied them. It is divided up into sections – such as historical and planning constraints, and performance and design – and demonstrates how the aesthetics and performance of a roof window can maximise the overall impact and efficiency of a building.

The Rooflight Company was founded by Peter King, an RIBA Chartered Architect, in 1993. The company has a team of in-house designers that works in close collaboration with clients to create bespoke designs, often around quite specific briefs. Enquiry drawings and renderings can be submitted in both PDF and CAD format at consultation stage to support the planning stages of the project.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 50 minutes
