Seminar, by Accoya
Focuses on the features, benefits, applications, sustainability and specification of acetylated wood – a most versatile and durable building material.

Accoya long life modified wood has become the timber industry benchmark for performance and sustainability. Few other timber types offer its combination of stability, durability and versatility. It is sustainably sourced (with FSC certification) and it has minimal environmental impact throughout its entire life: from production through application to end of life.
Seminar, by Velfac Windows
A seminar about windows, specifically their design, detailing and installation, and how they interface with the different construction methods and build-ups commonly used. Discusses how build sequence can affect the design, installation and sealing methodologies used, and how manufacturers can assist from early stage guidance and support through to provision of full interface details used for successful installation.

VELFAC is the windows expert. It can provide tailored advice and consultancy at every specification stage – from initial design ideas through to post-installation support. Talk to VELFAC as soon as your project starts to take shape, and use its product knowledge and industry expertise to specify glazing that matches your budget, design vision and performance targets. VELFAC composite windows bring together the best of both worlds: the durability and versatility of aluminium and the beauty and warmth of natural wood. Wood frames contribute to greater energy performance (with U-values as low as 0.8W/m²K) while slim 54mm sightlines maximise natural light. Opening and fixed lights have the same sightlines, providing a consistent aesthetic across window units.

Seminar, by Histoglass Ltd
Explores different historic glazing types and identifies when each type was used (and to which vernacular it belongs). Having established that, the presentation then demonstrates how historic glazing can be incorporated in modern systems to achieve both the correct period look and feel and modern acoustic and thermal insulation values.

Histoglass is a market leader in the field of replacement glazing for period properties, including thin double glazing and period glass.
Established in 2007, Histoglass has exclusive UK distribution rights to a range of outstanding glazing products that are precision-engineered in Germany by a 60-year-old family firm. Histoglass also boasts a high-profile national and international client base, encompassing both private residences and nationally significant Grade I and II listed buildings.

Seminar, by Somfy Ltd
An introduction to the automation and control of solar shading (such as blinds) and how it can contribute to a daylight management strategy in all types of commercial building. Discusses how automation captures the positive benefits of daylight and manages its negative impacts, such as glare and overheating. Also explores how occupant wellbeing and productivity can benefit and how shading can work with other building services to contribute to a building's energy efficiency.

Somfy’s activities are based on the automatic control of openings and closures in buildings. The company is constantly innovating for greater comfort and security while contributing to energy savings.
