Description

This immersive factory visit provides architects and construction professionals with a unique opportunity to follow the complete journey of bespoke joinery, from initial design concepts through to manufacture, finishing, dispatch and installation readiness. Hosted at Tier 1 joinery manufacturing headquarters in Suffolk, the programme combines technical presentations, live demonstrations and guided workshop tours to bridge the gap between design intent and real-world production.

Attendees will gain valuable insight into sustainable manufacturing, responsible material selection, circular economy principles, embodied carbon reduction and the role of environmental accreditation schemes including BREEAM, WELL, LEED and SKA. The visit demonstrates how digital design, technical detailing, CNC technology, quality management and modern manufacturing techniques work together to deliver high-performance joinery solutions.

Participants will experience every stage of the process, including design development, production planning, veneer craftsmanship, fire-rated doorset design, finishing techniques and logistics. Live demonstrations showcase material optimisation, waste reduction strategies, sustainable manufacturing innovations, and traditional joinery skills, while providing practical knowledge that can be applied to future projects.

By the end of the visit, attendees will have a deeper understanding of how collaboration between architects, designers and manufacturers can improve buildability, quality, sustainability and project outcomes, whilst appreciating the craftsmanship and technical expertise behind modern bespoke joinery.
