RIBA CPD Showcase

Doors

The following CPD materials have all been assessed and approved by the RIBA.
Seminar, by Abloy UK
This seminar has been designed to help specifiers understand the basic requirements of access control systems and electric locking options available, and to design legislation-compliant access control systems. It also explains how to ensure that electric locking specifications provide best practice solutions that meet the functional and legislative requirements for both fire and escape door applications.

Abloy UK is one of the UK’s leading experts in high quality door locking and functionality. Its product range includes electric and cylinder locks, padlocks, door operators and more. Abloy UK offers secure, compliant and lasting solutions trusted by organisations throughout the UK, Ireland and beyond, across a variety of industries – wherever compromise is not an option.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 45-60 minutes.
Seminar, by James Latham
This seminar highlights the technical aspects of various door cores – an unseen but critical aspect of doors and doorsets. It then compares the merits of each product with one another, where characteristics such as fire, acoustics, mechanical duty or thermal performance, and their corresponding Approved Documents, come into play.

James Latham is one of the UK’s largest independent importers of timber and panel products. The company operates from 12 sites around the UK, supplying decorative and structural products into manufacturers, joineries, and merchants. In September 2016 James Latham opened a product showroom at the Business Design Centre in Islington, where the focus is on servicing the needs of architects and designers.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 40-45 minutes.
