A Comprehensive Guide to Specifying Security Roller Shutter Doors

Face to Face Seminar
Design, construction and technology

Description

Security roller shutter doors are a physical barrier that protect buildings from unauthorised entry. They are used in all types of installations such as residential properties, commercial buildings, retail outlets, warehouses, critical national infrastructure, storage facilities, distribution centers, and garages.

The shutters are made of durable materials like steel or aluminium which run up and down tracks on either side of the opening. They can be electronically or manually operated with a range of options depending on product, size & application. Some models even have smart features that allow them to be controlled from a smart phone.

In this CPD we will be exploring:

  • The key differences between shutter types and end usage types for specific shutters.
  • The relevant regulations and testing you need to be aware of, including fire safety, to safely specify within the regulations.
  • Certifications applicable to high security products – specifically BRE's LPCB (Loss Prevention Security Board) certification as well as other relevant certifications on product performance.
  • Technical information, including motor types and control options.
  • Other relevant specifier focused needs.
  • Installation and maintenance.
  • Some common areas where shutters can be specified incorrectly.
