RIBA Core Curriculum: Designing & building it

The following CPD materials fall within the ‘Designing and building it – structural design, construction, technology and engineering’ RIBA Core Curriculum topic area.
Understanding and Specifying Invisible Sound Solutions
This CPD explores how VPT (Vibrational Panel Technology) can be used to create invisible in application, loudspeakers that produce high clarity room-filling sound. The seminar looks at understanding and specifying audio systems to create a continuous design environment, while exploring the advantages of considering audio in the early stages of the design process.

Amina Technologies claims to have invented the world’s first plaster-over loudspeaker in 2001. Since then, the company has continued to evolve the technology required to create high quality sound via speakers rendered invisible in application by a variety of materials, most commonly a final skim of plaster. The speakers are designed and manufactured in Huntingdon UK.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 50 minutes.
