Explores the reaction and resistance to fire in relation to external envelope cladding solutions as well as testing methodology for compliance with Approved Document B of the Building Regulations. Also examines additional steps that may be necessary to satisfy building insurers. Additional commentary is provided concerning the current BRE (Building Research Establishment) testing regime (BS 8414) that followed the failure in fire performance of cladding systems in relation to accommodation blocks.
