Finnmark Limited
About
When was the company founded, and how quickly has it grown?
Finnmark was founded by brothers Jake and Max Newport in 2016. What began as a small team working from a modest office space with a single Finnish heater brand and timber supplier in our portfolio has since grown significantly. Today, we are a team of 40, operating from two offices, a workshop, a wellness space, an in-house media studio, and three warehouses, offering over 4500 products to both B2C and B2B customers. Growth has been particularly strong over the past two years, with demand driving some of the most exciting developments in the company’s history. Our e-commerce sales have grown by 80% year-on-year, reflecting the strong and increasing demand for authentic sauna products and services online.
Have you noticed a surge in home sauna demand? If so, can you explain what that’s been like. Have you got a long waiting list?
We’ve seen steady growth in both home and commercial sauna demand since the early days of the business, but it has certainly surged over the past 2-3 years. Our team is busier than ever, handling a record number of enquiries and helping people bring authentic saunas into their homes, whether as a striking design feature or as part of their wellness routine.
It’s been an exciting challenge to expand our services, develop new offerings, and grow our range to meet this rising demand. Our team has grown to 40 people to support this, and we’ve maintained our education-first approach to ensure customers not only get a beautiful, luxury sauna but also the right knowledge to enjoy all its health benefits. We’re particularly encouraged to see so many people interested in doing sauna ‘the right way’, in keeping with authentic traditions.
Which styles/sizes are most popular?
Our bespoke projects cover a wide range - from compact 1.5m x 1m indoor home saunas, such as basements or loft conversions, to large-scale commercial installations that can seat up to 80 people. Designs range from traditional rectangular layouts to more unconventional shapes with slanted ceilings and other creative touches.
For customers embarking on their own projects, either with our ready-made models or design and materials advice from us, the most popular options at the moment tend to be 2-4-person modular outdoor saunas and barrel saunas. Our recently launched Finnmark modular sauna range has been particularly well-received.
Where are most of your clients located? Have there been any standout projects?
Most of our clients are based in the south of England, particularly in the London area, though we carry out installations all over the UK and have installed on the Outer Hebrides and the Channel Islands.
