Specifying Sustainable Floorcoverings

Description

The CPD will discuss sustainability and sustainable floor coverings. It sets out the source of current problems, and approaches to alleviation, through reductions of energy use and waste, and recycling among other measures. Topics covered include the Cradle to Cradle philosophy, material transparency, health and wellbeing initiatives, third party certifications and sustainable building labels. By the end of the presentation you should have a greater understanding of:

- Sustainable floorcoverings

- Cradle to Cradle principles include material health, material reutilization, renewable energy, water stewardship and social fairness

- Sustainability principles – including material ingredients, responsible manufacturing, and sourcing and recycling

- Material transparency and the tools used: EPD and MHS

- Principles of health and wellbeing
