This seminar looks at the relevant acoustic standards for Special Education Needs (SEN) teaching. It provides a summary of the changes to Department for Education document BB93: Acoustic Design for Schools, focusing on SEN room acoustics. By the end of the seminar you should have a greater understanding of:

- How we hear

- The impact of noisy or reverberant environments, low frequency sound and its negative effects on learning

- What are the relevant acoustic standards for schools and how BB93 applies to different spaces within a school

- Design solutions to meet the new standard
