Looks at common external wall types, the key functions of ventilated façades, and UK regulatory requirements for fire protection within ventilated façades (including the most recent changes in fire classifications). Also examines the functional performance of cavity barriers, suitable applications and important principles, testing and certification, and routes to compliance when installing cavity barrier components into a façade system. Installation guidance and typical problem areas (and how to overcome them) are also addressed.

Discusses IPC (infection, prevention and control), the threat that antimicrobial resistance poses and how this is leading to an increase in healthcare associated infections. Learn how to properly identify and evaluate high- and low-risk areas or surfaces, and then use this to determine what floor finish should be specified. Looks at antimicrobial assays, what these standards actually mean and the importance of the responsible use of antimicrobials, as well as examining the Clean Hospitals initiative.

This seminar looks at 3D modelling and how to transition from 2D to 3D. It includes practical advice and guidance on: levels of development and how much detail to model at what stage; streamlining workflows and how to provide associative deliverables such as schedules and sections; managing data and integrating British Standards and PAS information; the advantages of working in 3D; and, how to organise data for BIM development.
