Description

The tour of Cupa Pizarras' quarries and production plants in Northern Spain along with a presentation of our RIBA approved Natural Slate CPD will offer an insight into the characteristics of natural slate and a detailed overview of the production and selection processes.

Please speak to your local Specification Manager if you are interested in attending this Quarry Tour - allowing 3 days for the trip with 1 full day for the Quarry Tour and two days for travel.

The quarry tour aims to increase your understanding of:

- What slate is and its basic characteristics and benefits

- How to recognise the natural composition of slate and therefore able to identify slate quality and detect potential problems

- The production process from extraction through to selection

- The technical standards and quality control involved
