Designing Compliant Windows and Doors: A Guide to Building Regulations

This CPD takes a detailed tour around the most common window and door types that are designed by architects and principal designers. We explore what UK building regulations are most associated with these window and door types and what needs to be considered in the early RIBA design stages to ensure building regulation compliance. This is even more critical on higher risk buildings which require gateway submissions. An overview of a typical window and door design package is then provided, before we explore where regulations may conflict or overlap which encourages a coordinated, multidisciplinary approach to resolve.
