LOWIE bricks began as a research and development program launched in 2019 to find sustainable, affordable and authentic alternatives to classic facing bricks.

By process of extensive experimentation with different materials, LOWIE bricks have managed to preserve the aesthetic and technical characteristics of clay-fired bricks, with a fraction of the carbon emissions.

We recognize that real ecological progress is only possible if it is also affordable – LOWIE bricks come to the market at the same price, or sometimes even cheaper than soft mud equivalents.

LOWIE are a hybrid facing brick, neither clay nor concrete, with the key technical properties of both - they have achieved categorization under BS EN 771-1 and BS EN 771-3

The bricks display F2, S2, T2 properties as standard. They are A1 fire rated and have a crushing strength of 20N/mm² enabling use in high rise buildings. LOWIE’s above average insulation values allow compatibility with cladding systems.
