Floors for Generations – with almost 100 years of experience

HØRNING was founded in 1925 and has been dedicated to excellent craftsmanship ever since. The Arne Jacobsen heritage began with the iconic City Hall of Aarhus in 1939 and was followed by the Danish National Bank in 1971. Since the 1960s, HØRNING has been a preferred supplier for large Scandinavian airports and many other high-traffic buildings worldwide. During the years, projects such as Bestseller, Malmø Live, The National Gallery in Oslo, Ferring headquarters, and other signature buildings have been added to our reference list.


Market-leading product range - production and warehouse in Denmark

HØRNING offers a market-leading product range with 14 product groups, providing endless possibilities for designing a unique solid wood floor. Accessories such as adhesives, surface care, and skirtings are integral parts of our product range. Located in Skanderborg, Jutland, our production equipment is well kept and well-functioning. The warehouse holds a minimum of 40-50,000 sqm of solid wood floors and is fully climatized.


The Sustainable DNA

It is essential for HØRNING to contribute to the sustainable global driving force. Solid wood floors are per nature fully recyclable and thus fulfilling the future demand of sustainable buildings. HØRNING is FSC, PEFC, EUTR and CE-certified. In 2019 HØRNING achieved the Eurofins Indoor Comfort Gold certification. HØRNING provides EPD- and LCA documentation.


Experienced industrial owners with a highly skilled technical and commercial organization

In 2010 the current owners acquired HØRNING and in 2017 the CEO, Peter Vissing, was included as a partner. All 5 owners have +30 years of business experience in the building industry. The ownership perspective is long term. In 2018 Horning UK Ltd was founded in London. The team of 25 dedicated employees is a strong mix of old and new people.
