This presentation follows the development of metal and glass façade systems, from Jean Prouve`s early pioneering work with composites, through the CLASP era. It looks at how the high-tech architects began to explore the interfacing details of all elements of the façade as a single wall solution, which evolved into factory fabricated unitised facades.

With specific reference to Building Bulletin 93 and the most recent changes to Section 1A, this seminar addresses the subject of room acoustics, reverberation times and how these can be managed to achieve BB93 requirements using sound absorbing finishes and specialist concrete masonry. The session covers: acoustic design considerations, room acoustic design with reference to absorption coefficients and reverberation times, Alphacrete Acoustic performance, design and detailing, and BB93 based design examples.
