RIBA CPD Showcase

Roofing membranes

The following CPD materials have been assessed and approved by the RIBA.
The demand for inverted roofs, insulated balconies and terraces has never been higher, yet most architects have limited experience due to decades of specifying warm roofs. This CPD seminar provides the foundation to allow architects to specify them in confidence; covering design and construction considerations, standards, the application of hot melt monolithic waterproofing systems, and surface finishes options, including green roofs.

Radmat is an independent British company providing a versatile range of advanced roofing and waterproofing systems. Radmat’s high-performance waterproofing materials are used industry-wide and are marketed via specification assistance to architects, consulting engineers and quantity surveyors. The company is committed to providing superior roofing and structural waterproofing products, and combines this with exceptional technical support to the specifier and the construction team.

Seminar, by Kemper System Ltd
This presentation covers the key areas relating to cold liquid-applied waterproofing for flat roofs and other applications. Liquid waterproofing is the fastest growing sector of the roofing market and in many cases now the preferred method for both new-build and refurbishment. This seminar places particular emphasis on sustainability, and covers the specification of sustainable liquid roofing in new-build and refurbishment projects and in warm- and green-roof systems.

Kemper System is the company behind KEMPEROL liquid resin waterproofing systems. Cold applied, the resins saturate a reinforcement fleece which is extremely tough, and cure to form a seamless, monolithic, elastomeric membrane for the long-term protection of roofs, critical structures and buildings.

Online Learning, by Triton Systems
This online seminar covers ‘Type C’ structural waterproofing, which BS 8102 (the code of practice for below ground waterproofing) defines as ‘drained protection’. It covers the specification of cavity drain membranes to waterproof existing and new build basements, their installation, associated drainage and pump systems, and the importance of regular maintenance.

Triton specialises in the provision of high-performance structural waterproofing systems for residential and commercial projects, including all three types defined in BS 8102:2009 (drained, integral and barrier protection) plus timber preservation and DPC systems.

Technical support is available from a highly qualified team and CAD drawings, BIM objects and case studies are available on the company’s website.
