Here are the latest CPD materials to have been assessed and approved by the RIBA. These include both new and recently revised CPD materials.

This CPD aims to provide an overview of WPC flooring against traditional and modern flooring types. It will cover how WPC flooring is constructed, the benefits of WPC LVT flooring, where to use it in residential and commercial applications and give a technical specification of WPC LVT flooring. By the end of the seminar you should have a greater understanding of:
- The strengths and weaknesses of WPC LVT flooring against other finishes
- Technical data available and how to compare flooring products
- Where best to specify certain floor types
- How a flooring product with high maintenance requirements increases life cycle costs

This seminar focuses on the Building Regulations Part L1A 2013, fabric performance specification and the corresponding insulation specification for each of the fabric components. - Test Methods and how to challenge manufacturers to produce the relevant certification or test evidence.

Hot dip galvanizing is a highly controlled factory led process and everything from small nuts and bolts to large structural sections can be galvanized. Whether it is for agriculture, transport, utilities or the energy sector, galvanizing plays an important role within our day-to-day lives.
Galvanizing companies the length and breadth of the UK and Ireland will take part in the second Industry Open Day this Autumn, shining a light on the impressive alchemy that is hot dip galvanizing.
Various sites ranging from Elgin, Exeter, Hull and Galway in Ireland, will be opening their doors on October 15th.
You will follow the production process where steelwork is coated with zinc. Plant visits give specifiers and fabricators an opportunity to learn how to extend and improve their use of galvanizing. The tour will take approximately 2 hours and will help attendees to:
- Understand the hot dip galvanizing process, handling, cleaning and galvanizing steelwork coming into the plant
- Understand issues around quality control, sustainability and the recycling of heat and waste
- Design better structures
- Make more informed corrosion protection decisions
The coordinated site visits are aimed at giving construction industry professionals a valuable opportunity to learn how to extend and improve their use of galvanizing.
