Here are the latest CPD materials to have been assessed and approved by the RIBA. These include both new and recently-revised CPD materials.
Seminar, by Bilco UK
Covers: how to design safe access to the roof; which types of ladder or stairway are the most appropriate for different hatches and access requirements; how to move around the roof safely, navigate obstructions, and create a safe escape route; the connections between hatches, ladders and roof systems, and; natural smoke ventilation systems and their potential for use as either access or ventilation.

Seminar, by Mapei (UK) Ltd
Explores some of the most common reasons for ceramic tiling failure, including inadequate substrate considerations. Also examines European standards, the relevant preparatory information needed to correctly specify tiling, and a variety of successful UK and international project case studies.

Analyses the different grades of use in accordance with BS 8102 - 2009 Protection of Structures Against Water from the Ground. Also considers the various solutions for waterproofing both above- and below-ground structures currently available to the specifier.

Describes high-quality technical solutions for both interior and exterior floors and is one of the only RIBA-approved CPD programmes currently to focus exclusively on raised access flooring. With a step-by-step analysis, this seminar is all about specification. It has been created to help architects and other design professionals better understand the importance and versatility of this type of floor.

Porcelanosa Group specialises in ceramic floor, façades and wall surfaces. Its raised access flooring is a technical system designed to hide facilities such as cables, piping and air conditioning. These installations remain hidden under the system, known as a ‘technical plenum’, allowing immediate and simple accessibility.
