RIBA Core Curriculum: Climate

The following CPD materials fall within the ‘Climate – sustainable architecture’ RIBA Core Curriculum topic area.
Seminar, by FOAMGLAS®
This seminar explores the use of cellular glass insulation as a load-bearing structural element used throughout the building envelope: from roofs with vehicular access, floors with no compression under load, basement walls against earth and moisture, and reducing thermal bridging whilst bearing the weight of the build. Using building physics, this seminar aims to offer design solutions.

Pittsburgh Corning manufactures FOAMGLAS Cellular Glass Insulation at its high-tech centres in Europe. The company has been responsible for insulating buildings throughout the UK for 30 years, and can proudly claim that its products are present in virtually every iconic building on the London skyline.

A high quality insulation created from 66% post-consumer glass, FOAMGLAS offers the strength and environmental requirements for today’s project designs.

Approximate duration excluding time for questions/answers: 45 minutes.
Seminar, by Reynaers Aluminium
This CPD seminar provides an all-round understanding of aluminium systems for architectural glazing. It takes an in-depth look at aluminium, the material, the key drivers in the growth of sustainable glazing, and their impact on the evolution of aluminium window design and thermal performance. It will aid the specifier in choosing the most appropriate level of performance for his or her project.

Reynaers has been supplying aluminium systems for architectural glazing worldwide for over 50 years. Established in the UK more than 25 years ago, Reynaers works in close collaboration with specifiers and partners throughout the industry to share its knowledge and demonstrate the values it believes are vital in industry. Product quality is paramount to this and is maintained through continuous investment in research and development.
