RIBA CPD Showcase

Green applications, resources

Unsurprisingly, a hugely popular subject area among all specifiers, not just architects. And just as unsurprisingly, a platform from which the RIBA CPD Providers Network can serve up the widest variety of specialist expertise.
Seminar, by Protan (UK) Ltd
This seminar enlightens specifiers to the benefits achieved when utilising green roof systems on their projects with single ply roofing waterproofing systems. It offers comprehensive design guidance for specifying green roof systems on new build and refurbishment projects, and advice on where to find applicable regulations and policies from around Europe.

Protan is a Norwegian company and Europe’s third largest manufacturer of single ply membranes. It has over 30 years’ experience of installing green roof systems throughout Europe and beyond. To date millions of square metres of Protan green roof systems have been installed, proving its expertise in specifying these specialised systems.

Seminar, by Axter Ltd
Microgeneration of electricity is almost obligatory in order to achieve levels 5 and 6 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. Axter’s seminar details this and other drivers behind the push for microgeneration, and also gives practical alternatives to standard PV panels. Large- and small-scale examples are used as illustration, together with financial information that architects can put before clients.

For many years Axter has specialised in the manufacture of high quality, fully integrated, robust, innovative waterproofing membranes, engineered to provide unparalleled performance and design flexibility for roofing, basements and civil engineering projects. These membranes can be used under site applied protection (especially on inverted roofs), are self-protected or come with an integral photovoltaic coating for generation of renewable electricity.
