Seminar, by BlazeMaster
What is a CPVC fire sprinkler system and how does it work? This seminar answers these and other questions while offering insight into UK fire statistics, approvals and standards relevant to fire sprinkler systems, fire tests for plastic fire sprinkler systems, the advantages of CPVC over steel systems, and handling, storage and installation. The presentation also uses case study examples to illustrate best practice.
BlazeMaster post-chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) pipes and fittings provide unique advantages in sprinkler installations, including superior hydraulics, ease of joining and ease of assembly. First installed in the United States, CPVC systems have become increasingly popular across Europe, the United Kingdom and Scandinavia. Following recent European-led initiatives to address the need to develop sustainable building solutions, several independent studies by European government agencies and insurers have shown that the installation of fire sprinkler systems is an important contributing factor in sustainability. They reduce fire, smoke and water damage and eliminate the need for fire damaged buildings to be torn down and rebuilt. CPVC fire sprinkler piping has a further positive environmental impact because its production requires less energy than steel pipe and because its corrosion resistance gives it a prolonged service life compared to metal pipe.
