The following RIBA-approved CPD materials fall within the ‘Legal, regulatory and statutory compliance’ RIBA core curriculum topic, which covers the legal, regulatory and policy frameworks underpinning business, architecture and construction. The topic also embraces the knowledge and skills necessary to apply these across other CPD Core Curriculum topics. RIBA Chartered Members must undertake and record at least 35 hours of continuing professional development each year, with at least 20 of those hours identified as matching the ten mandatory RIBA core curriculum CPD topics. This presentation covers the differences between product types and what those differences mean. It addresses the relevant sections of the Construction Products Regulations, the UK Building Regulations (post-Brexit) and the transition from the EU to the UKCA standards relating to these products. It also provides guidance on how to ensure that materials meet BS EN 15102 product performance requirements, are correctly fire certificated for their intended use, have a declaration of performance, and are displaying an approved CE or UKCA mark.
