The visit, which in places is by 4x4 vehicle, provides an overview of Welsh slate as a building material and helps architects understand the uses of slate in roofing, flooring, walling, paving and countertops, to name but a few. Showing the process from rock face to finished product, this visit gives an insight into the challenges of crafting a natural product.
