Provides information on the basic principles of brickwork for those new to specifying it or those requiring a ‘back to basics’ refresher. The presentation examines different brick manufacturing techniques that can produce a variety of finishes and appearances. Durability, mortar and the importance of setting out to brick dimensions are also covered, along with an overview of DPCs, basic principles of movement and the use of special shapes. It concludes with a look at some innovative and inspiring case study examples.
