A thought-provoking seminar about the complex issues of environmental sustainability in relation to interior fabrics and upholstery coverings. This presentation examines raw material choices, from petrochemical synthetics to natural fibres like cotton and wool and innovations in bast fibres from plants including nettles and hemp. An overview of the issues surrounding textile dyeing and flammability performance is also provided.
