Factory Visit
Furniture Factory and Showroom Tour
This tour is based at the Lyndon furniture factory and showroom in Cheltenham. It can be booked via the RIBA website, it lasts one hour and numbers are limited to six people. The tour provides an overview of the factory and will help you to understand the skill and craftsmanship involved in furniture design and manufacture. It will cover the following furniture manufacturing areas:
- Upholstery, foam and cutting and sewing processes
- Timber and joinery processes, cutting and assembly of components to put the frame together
- Recycling area for wood and sawdust
- Polishing shop and lacquering
- Wrapping furniture ready to send out to the customer
