Building with Colour: The Evolution of Colour Theory
This CPD explores the relationship between colour and architecture across the 20th Century to the present day. It begins by looking at different colour theories, later moving on to the application of colour in modern architecture, with the work of Le Corbusier and the De Stijl movement. It then examines contemporary architecture and application of colour psychology and neuroarchitecture. The presentation concludes with an introduction to how colour is 'made' - the apparatus and methodology of creating colour for powder coating. By the end of the CPD you should have a greater understanding of:
- Architectural movements that used colour innovatively and how contemporary architecture uses colour
- Implications of colour psychology in relation to architecture (neuroarchitecture)
- Technical aspects of colour production
- The evolution of colour theory
- The process of colour production for powder coating
